If you live in Chengdu — or you are preparing to study, work, marry, drive, or settle in China — you will probably need official document translations, and sometimes an interpreter for a government, hospital, or notary appointment. Hanyi Translation (翰译翻译) is a local language-services office in Chengdu. The brand was founded in 2011. Our slogan is “言语无界|沟通未来”: language without borders; communication for the future.

We have an office in Chengdu. Sister offices also operate in other Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Xi’an. For Guangzhou, see https://www.hanyifanyi.com/.

Document translation foreigners usually need

We translate the personal and business papers that Chinese authorities, universities, employers, banks, and vehicle offices commonly request. Typical jobs include:

  • Passports and related identity materials
  • Visa and residence-permit supporting documents
  • Driver’s licences (including materials used when converting a foreign licence to a Chinese licence)
  • Marriage certificates, birth certificates, and no-criminal-record certificates
  • Diplomas, degree certificates, and academic transcripts
  • Bank statements
  • Business documents such as contracts and related commercial or legal paperwork

The Chengdu website also presents legal, medical, thesis, and website translation, and states coverage of 200+ languages. When you contact us, tell us which organisation will receive the translation and what it is for. That decides tone, layout, and whether a company translation seal is required.

Interpreting in Chengdu

When forms are not enough, ask us about interpreting for:

  • Business meetings
  • Hospital visits
  • Notary appointments
  • Police or Entry-Exit (immigration) bureau appointments

Language pair, date, and duration affect availability — please enquire as early as you can for on-site work.

How it works

  1. Send clear photos or scans by WeChat or email. Include source and target language, your deadline, and the purpose (for example: driver’s licence conversion, residence permit, university enrolment).
  2. Get a quote based on language pair, volume, urgency, and whether a stamp or a specific file format is needed.
  3. We translate with professional human translators. When the receiving body expects it, the finished translation can be issued with our translation company seal (翻译专用章).
  4. Receive an electronic copy, or visit the office during business hours for pickup. Courier delivery can be arranged when needed.

Office hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00 (Asia/Shanghai).

Why use a Chengdu office

You get local contact channels, purpose-based delivery, and — when required — a stamped company translation for submission. You are also welcome to visit during business hours in Qingyang District.

FAQ

Will Chinese authorities accept your translation?
Many procedures in China expect a translation prepared by a translation company and stamped with a translation seal. Acceptance still depends on the specific receiving authority and the purpose of your application. If you already know the bureau, university, hospital, bank, or notary office, tell us so we can match the presentation they usually ask for.

How long does it take?
Timing depends on language pair, length, scan quality, and urgency. Send the files and your deadline; the quote will include a realistic delivery window.

How much does it cost?
All work is quoted case by case. Clear scans, the language pair, and the deadline help us price accurately. Rush jobs and less common languages may cost more.

Do I need to come in person?
Often no. Many clients start by sending photos on WeChat or email. You are welcome to visit during office hours for consultation or pickup.
